Incoming Tide

Posted by Taylor (St. Louis, United States) on 28 December 2013 in Landscape & Rural and Portfolio.

What often makes a shot for me is the adventure you often must go through to obtain that shot. This shot is one of my favorites for that reason. When the tide is out there is a large rock outcrop to walk along the ocean. When the tide is in, however, this outcrop is completely under and it is not possible to get to this spot without swimming. The tide was just coming in as sunset hit giving me a perfect opportunity to take some pics! Of course this window was short and this area was complete under shortly after I left, but the sheer beauty of watching the tide coming in made this worth the effort!
